For a different class I actually had to conduct an interview from one of the ex-teachers of my past. To find my high school English teacher's email address, I visited his website. On there I was surprised to see multiple assignment instructions and cool video updates from him about the pandemic, its effects on the community, his school, and his personal life. I found these very engaging and opened up a safe space for the class to discuss their own problems with hi, no matter how trivial they may seem. https://www.leonschools.net/Domain/7732 I really like planners and schedules, and I have liked them since I was a kid. It has been proven that when you write something down, you are more likely to do it, and that way you do not have to stress to remember it. Trello seems to be the best version of a planner designed specifically for teachers. It also keeps track of student assignments and projects.  I, unfortunately was not able to get my PB Works... working. But, I do not think I wou

One thing I really like about Diigo is the tutorial page right when you open the website. Most sites make you explore and find out how to use it, but this is different. There are different tools that are meticulously described. What I hate about it however is the lack of aesthetic design, time it takes to load, and separate extension you have to enable and add. I actually really enjoy blogging! I wish that I had the time to start one where I could just write about the things I like but, alas, it is for class. Being told you should do something always makes it less fun! I really never realized how easy it was though. I am a huge proponent of youtube. For consumption, there are tons of very informative, appropriate channels dedicated to academic subjects that are even more well put together than most textbooks! For student use I believe that it brings out creativity. There are free video editing software they can use, they can do voice over, so many ways to display their voice on this m

My experience with twitter before this class was mainly to read about politics. I enjoy it. I enjoy debating online politics with people (in a calm fashion) and I enjoy expanding my worldview or vocabulary on the subject as it really interests me. In the future I hope to use it in a similar way and I believe that could help my future career (which may not be teaching).  One key components to the 'digital divide' is this concept that people who do not have access to the internet are less likely to make their concerns heard despite possibly having the most legitimate concerns. This has a fairly obvious effect on poverty-stricken schools across the world. When interviewing my old high school English teacher, one of the things they had to do due to the pandemic was provide students with fair equity in resources. The schools had to mail students with out internet access the material with detailed instructions as well as even envelopes and stamps to mail the work back. Of course thi

The ELA Technology standard for Kindergarten is to create and publish writing with the instructional help from teachers and collaboration of peers. This standard is really interesting for such a low grade. I feel fairly comfortable using something like this, though it may be challenging for the students at that age to write coherent sentences. But I may be discounting them.  One of the resources in the CPALM toolkit for visual art was on motion. The instruction was to better understand how to capture three different type of motion techniques in photography: frozen action, blurred action, and panning. The lesson is also to get learners to be able to observe this in pictures. Hopefully, if able to recognize it in still photographs they are better able to recognize what they should or should not freeze, blur, or pan in their own artwork.  I think good searching practices are important to demonstrate in the classroom for two reasons: to saves time and to avoid inappropriate websites.
